Our Commitment to Social Justice

We stand firm against any acts of racism, discrimination, inequalities and social injustice. The racial injustices that is experienced by African Americans in this country every day impacts us all. In order to witness progressive change, it is up to the entire world not only to be aware, but to address it. Our commitment to serve has compelled us to face racism head-on as we fulfill our mission to educate and strengthen under- resourced individuals of our community to live at their highest potential through health and education.

Here is a great article on the topic to give you a little background on the issues we’re aiming to address through  our services.

Racism has been declared a public health crisis in the city of Cleveland as of June 2020.

Our organization’s purpose has always been to address inequalities in healthcare and education and it was the foundation the organization was built upon  in 2017. Hands-On health is energized, proud, and committed to our purpose of addressing racial inequality and inequity in the healthcare and education sectors. Through our programs, our organization is focused on reducing barriers of accessing appropriate health care and education through our mobile health services.

Our Core Values are:

  • Building trust and relationships within our communities and connecting culturally competent health care providers with residents in need
  • Collaborating with community organizations, businesses, health care professionals and residents to further meet the needs and extend our efforts
  • Committing to educate ourselves, provide resources and support efforts on making a difference in health and education outcomes in Cleveland.
